Dr. Niko Wilson is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, a Nationally Certified Counselor, and an AAMFT Supervisor in Training with a virtual private practice. She has been practicing in a variety of settings since 2013, including private practice, community agencies, and an equine therapy ranch.

Dr. Niko Wilson specializes in trauma-informed, relational work with individuals, couples, and families. She has extensive clinical experience working with complex trauma and applies trauma informed principles in all of her work. Dr. Wilson decided to pursue her career in counseling after experiencing firsthand the healing power that comes when one consistently processes through pain and finds freedom from past wounds. She utilizes various techniques to meet the unique needs of her clients and operates from an experiential approach. As an ally, she strives to create an open and safe space for all clients. 

Dr. Wilson completed her masters degree in Counseling Psychology from Palm Beach Atlantic University and her doctoral degree in Counselor Education and Supervision from the University of Central Florida. She is an active member of several professional organizations and her most recent research project involved examining fertility related quality of life, relationship satisfaction, resilience, depression, and shame in diverse couples with infertility.  Dr. Niko Wilson is also an Assistant Professor and Core Faculty in the Counseling and Behavioral Health Department at William James College.
